Clinton County eateries inspected

The following information is obtained from the Clinton County Health Department and is compiled from inspection reports.

Violations are either critical or non-critical. Critical violations are more likely to contribute to food contamination, illness or an environmental health hazard, including inadequate cooking of food items or poor personal hygiene.

Arby’s, 1619 Rombach Ave., Wilmington, Nov. 5.

Critical: There is no verification available for employees to report illness. Inside ledge of ice machine is dirty with pink residue. Inside of ice dispenser on soda machine in lobby is dirty. Ice cream/milk shake machine is not cleaned daily. All food contact surfaces must be cleaned daily, cleaned more often as needed to prevent any possible contamination. Scoop for au jus measuring is dirty; Arby’s states on side of machine to clean on Wednesdays and Sundays. Arby’s must provide info of cleaning every 3 days along with proof that machine only needs to be cleaned every 3 days if they choose not to break down and clean daily. Spray bottle with blue cleaner missing name label. Several TCS food items above 41°F (must be kept at 41°F or below). Person In Charge monitoring.

Non-critical: Nothing posted in facility regarding procedure for cleaning up vomit and diarrhea. Employees not wearing hair restraints or beard nets. Employees with long hair wearing visor but hair is not restrained. Employees put on hats and beard restraints. Thank you! Using prep table as drying area for dishes. Dishes must be properly air dried using drain board, not prep table to avoid any possible contamination. Doors on reach-in 2-door cooler in kitchen don’t close properly because they are broken. Two-door reach-in cooler has water in bottom of unit because it is not working properly. Doors of cabinet under deep fryer don’t close. Front of walk-in cooler has mildew/mold on it. All fronts of cabinets in kitchen are dirty. Outside of 2-door Traulsen freezer dirty. Vents in hood over deep fryer dirty. Fronts of all coolers in kitchen dirty. All floors throughout the facility were dirty (kitchen, prep, storage, walk-in cooler, walk-in freezer, dry storage). Floors under equipment (ovens, coolers, deep fryers) were extremely dirty. Wall behind beverage machine in lobby is dirty and wallpaper is coming off. Trash on floor of walk-in freezer. Wall under 3-compartment sink is dirty. Walls throughout the facility are dirty. Ceilings throughout the facility are dirty. Extremely dirty over food prep/make line. Non-working oven in kitchen; all non-working equipment needs to be removed for ease of cleaning.

Domino’s Pizza, 265 W. Locust St., Wilmington, Nov. 5.

Critical: There were 3 containers of ketchup and mustard in pizza prep cooler that were dated to expire Nov. 3. Manager discarded. Gnats/flies flying around 3-compartment sink. Please contact licensed pest control operator.

Non-critical: This facility doesn’t have anyone who is certified in food protection. Employees with facial hair not wearing restraints. Door on pizza prep cooler not closing right (2nd door). Wall behind 3-compartment sink dirty.

Majestic Springs Golf Club, 1631 Todds Fork Road, Wilmington, Nov. 4. Critical: Open package of hot dogs in refrigerator in kitchen not dated.

Non-critical: Handwashing sink in the kitchen is out of hand soap. Reach-in refrigerator in lobby does not have thermometer. Floors in kitchen are dirty. Walls in kitchen are dirty with food debris by microwave. Wall behind 3-compartment sink is damaged and needs to be repaired. Flooring is coming up between kitchen and storage room.

Wilmington College Sandella’s Flatbread, 256 College St., Wilmington, Nov. 2. Critical: Ranch sauce in walk-in cooler was dated prepared on Oct. 25. All foods must be dated for use within seven days or discarded. Person In Charge discarded product while I was at the facility. Thank you.
