WILMINGTON — New Life Clinic held its annual fundraising banquet on October 19 at the historic Murphy Theatre in downtown Wilmington.
The fall banquet is the main fundraiser that the clinic performs yearly to cover their annual costs. This year’s goal was $60,000 — and to date they have $62,145.
This year’s banquet held a dessert reception where Treats by Emily were provided to guests as they entered the doors. Guests were welcomed by Cheryl Brackemyre, Children’s Minister from Wilmington Church of Christ, who gave an opening prayer for the night’s festivities.
Next, guests were updated on what has been happening at New Life Clinic since the last in-person banquet from Board Vice President Nikki Estep. Nikki shared statistics of how client visits have more than doubled since implementing a new marketing strategy in August.
A client testimony was shown to introduce keynote speaker Shawn Carney, President and CEO of 40 Days for Life. He is also known for being the vigilant prayer warrior who former abortion worker, Abby Johnson, ran to after her conversion to pro-life. Their story is told in the movie “Unplanned.”
When Shawn took the stage, the audience heard an exceptional pro-life speech mixed with a bit of humor. Shawn explained how “We are winning” the pro-life fight. His explanation comes from numerous abortion clinics closing and pro-life pregnancy centers out-numbering those clinics who offer abortions. Other proof comes from more of the younger generations actively joining the pro-life movements.
The evening ended with copies of Shawn Carney’s three books for sale and a call for those in attendance to donate.
The New Life Clinic gave a special warm thanks to each person who attended and gave. Because of those generous donations, the year’s goal was reached within days of the banquet close.
If you would like to donate, visit www.newlifesupport.org and select “Donate” or send a check to 100 S. South St., Wilmington, OH 45177. And of course, prayers are always welcomed.
