Pi Delta Zeta holds food drive

WILMINGTON — The Pi Delta Zeta chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha at Wilmington College recently held a community-wide can-food drive.

For this special event, the brotherhood called upon local businesses and our neighbors throughout the surrounding community for help. This food drive will help the homeless in our community throughout this holiday season; but our success is shared throughout the community.

The can-food drive started in 2020 while noticing the amount of homelessness in our area (20.3%). It is our goal to help ease the burden in the community by providing these nonperishable items.

The brothers of Lamda Chi Alpha would like to thank everyone that participated in this fundraising event. Also, this community-wide philanthropy event would not have been possible without important donations.

We would like to give a special thanks to the folks at Ace Hardware for donating the bags. While handing out bags, boxes were also placed at establishments around the community.

We want to give thanks to Kava Haus and Kairos Coffee for allowing us to place boxes in their businesses, and the substantial amounts of donations received by the community.

All donations will be given to Sugartree Ministries for this upcoming holiday season!
