County battle highlights baseball tourney draw

An in-county baseball matchup highlights the opening round of sectional tournament play, which was determined Sunday afternoon.

Clintoin-Massie (7-13) will visit Blanchester (13-4) 5 p.m. May 17 at Bott Field for a Division II contest. The two teams met earlier in the season with the Wildcats scratching out a 7-6 win at Day Air Credit Union Ballpark in Dayton.

Wilmington (3-15) will travel down to Sycamore High School to meet the Aviators (11-10) 5 p.m. May 17 in a Division I tournament matchup.

East Clinton (2-16) will host a tournament game, meeting winless Finneytown (0-8) 5 p.m. May 16 at ECHS.

WHS lacrosse hosts Braves

The Wilmington High School lacrosse team will host Talawanda Noon May 14 at Alumni Field in a Region 8 tournament matchup.

The Hurricane was the 14th seed while the Braves were the 15th seed.
