LEES CREEK — Clermont Northeastern spoiled East Clinton’s Homecoming Friday night with a 50-22 win.
The Astros are 2-7 overall, 0-3 in the SBAAC National Division.
The Rockets advance to 3-6 overall, 1-2 in league play.
Despite the loss, according to Joe Eitel’s website and the Fantastic50.net website, East Clinton has not been eliminated from post-season consideration.
Clermont Northeastern has moved in to the 15th spot in Div. V Region 20. The top 16 teams advance to the playoffs.
East Clinton hosts Blanchester in Week 10.
The Rockets grabbed the early on two long touchdowns but Adran Baker hauled in a 44-yard catch and run from Luka Runk to get East Clinton on the board in the second quarter. The Rockets scored three straight touchdowns to go up 38-6.
Dameon Williams and Glenn Peacock had Astro touchdowns in the second half as the East Clinton ground proved successful.
The Astros had 290 yards rushing, with Peacock going for 144 on 13 tries and Williams getting 142 on 30 attempts.
Jake Mott of CNE had 168 yards on the ground. The Rockets had 434 yards of total offense.
Baker and Peacock both had 10 total tackles for EC while Noah Mess had an interception.
