Clinton-Massie 7th grade boys edge Bulldogs by one

The Clinton-Massie seventh grade boys basketball team defeated Batavia 44-43 Monday.

Coach Cordell Cordrey said his team stepped up to the challenge against the young Bulldogs.

Barron Phipps had 20 points to pace the Falcons on offense.

Wyatt Scott and Eli Janis had nine points each. Corban Cartner scored three points and Hayden Meeker had two. Easton Vineup scored a free throw.

Massie trailed 12-7 after one period then dominated the second quarter to take a 25-19 halftime lead. It was nip and tuck from there with the Falcons holding on for the win.
