WILMINGTON — The Wilmington bowling teams had identical scores of 2,535.
For the girls, that was good enough for the Hurricane to defeat Clinton-Massie, 2535 to 2007.
For the boys, it was not good enough as Clinton-Massie prevailed 2823 to 2535.
The Wilmington girls completed the regular season as undefeated SBAAC American Division champions with a 10-0 record. WHS is 12-1 overall.
“Wilmington may be one of the better teams in the Southwest District,” CM coach Tyler Hayslip said. “I was very pleased with a 2007. If we can continue to shoot a score like 2000, we will find ourselves going to districts in Div. II.”
Kylie Fisher had a 440 series with games of 234 and 206. Tori Piatt had a single game of 254.
Mollie Miracle had a personal best 317 for the Falcons.
In the boys match, Landon Mellinger had a 473 series for Wilmington with games of 246 and 227. Isaac Pletcher had a 237 game and Austin Oglesby had a 200 game.
For Clinton-Massie, Brandon Moritz had a 476 (212, 264) series Sam Massie was right behind with a 472 (267, 205).
“I am very pleased with the way we are bowling right now,” Hayslip said. “Everyone is pushing each other to get better. I hope to take this momentum into the conference tournament on Saturday.”
