Massie grad Chappie closes out 11-9 WC victory

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College baseball team returned to its winning ways with an 11-9 victory Wednesday over Indiana University Purdue University Columbus at Tewksbury-Delaney Field.

In relief, David Ernst picked up his first win with four strikeouts in three innings. Luke Chappie, a Clinton-Massie grad, notched his third save of the season with a strikeout to end the game.

Jesse Reliford and Evan Kelsey had three hits each. Reliford also stole two bases and drove in two runs. Kelsey, Caleb Scott and Jared Lammert also had RBI for Wilmington.

The Quakers (11-16) head to Marietta College for an Ohio Athletic Conference twinbill Saturday.
