Wilmington title hopes end in New Richmond

NEW RICHMOND — With a league loss, Wilmington’s chances at an SBAAC American Division baseball title ended Wednesday.

New Richmond defeated Wilmington 8-1 and pushed the Hurricane to 5-4 in the league. WHS is 7-8 overall.

The Lions are 11-8, 6-4.

Western Brown won Wednesday over Batavia to clinch a share of the crown and eliminate WHS.

New Richmond pitcher Luke Abbott was dominant, allowing three hits and an unearned run in the win. He struck out 11 and did not walk a batter on the mound.
