LEES CREEK — Wilmington made it three straight wins Tuesday with a 25-19, 25-14, 25-21 victory on the road over East Clinton.
“It’s always a battle when we play; they are scrappy,” WHS head coach Stephanie Reveal said. “We kind of let our guard down in the set three and had to fight our way back.”
Reveal said the team must be more focused and ready to play as it begins the second round of play in the SBAAC American Division.
Wilmington is 8-4 on the year while East Clinton drops to 5-9.
”There were definitely improvements from Monday night, but not enough to pull off the win,” East Clinton head coach Sarah Sodini said. “Wilmington had some really good hitters and blockers that we struggled with.”
Sodini said Abbi Reynolds hustled and hit well, Hadlie Clark played well in the back row and had 15 perfect passes and Karsyn Jamison served well.
Miya Nance had four solo blocks while Taija Walker had three solos. Brynn Bryant served six aces.
