BLANCHESTER — The following report is generated from incident reports provided by the Blanchester Police Department. All those charged/arrested are presumed innocent until possibly found guilty in court. Charges may be dropped or changed in court.

**This list does not contain all calls and matters handled by officers, nor does it include ongoing investigations and follow-ups on cases from previous weeks, traffic crashes, or traffic stops**

Officers handled over 150 calls for service from Sept. 15-30.

Some of the calls handled include:

-An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of E. Center Street; a 31-year-old Blanchester woman was found to have a warrant for her arrest on an original charge of drug possession. The warrant was out of Warren County.

-An officer responded to an address in the 300 block of W. Main Street for the report of vinyl siding being spray-painted sometime over the weekend. The suspect, listed as an 11-year-old, was also listed as a suspect in a previous report where fencing and traffic signs were painted.

-An officer responded to the report of a harassing email being sent from a student to a faculty member. This report was forwarded to the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of charges.

-An officer responded to a business for the report of a fraudulent charge on a credit card. The card belonged to a woman out of state, and the card was used for over $1,000 for a phone order. This matter is still being investigated.

-Officers were dispatched to an address in Midland to take a report of an incident that occurred in the 100 block of S. Broadway Street in the village. A 39 year-old Pleasant Plain man was charged with assault out of the incident.

-A 19 year-old Blanchester man was arrested on a warrant in the 200 block of E. Fancy Street.

-An officer stopped a vehicle driving around 1 a.m. with no headlights or taillights on. The driver, a 32 year-old Xenia man, whom appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, submitted to field of sobriety tests and subsequently arrested for OVI.

-A caller reported juveniles throwing a knife at a sign, where sporting practice was going on nearby. Officers arrived and spoke to the juvenile accused of throwing a knife at the sign, which was found to have damage. This matter was forwarded to the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of charges.

-A 35 year-old Blanchester woman was arrested on a warrant through the department in the area of S. Broadway Street. The woman was taken to the Clinton County Jail.

-A 44 year-old Blanchester woman was arrested on a warrant through the department in the 200 block of Old S. Broadway Street. The woman was taken to the Clinton County Jail.

-Officers were dispatched to a possible domestic in the 900 block of S. Broadway Street. The caller stated a woman was yelling and throwing items in the parking lot. A 35 year-old Blanchester woman was cited with disorderly conduct.

-Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Orchard Circle for the report of an assault that occurred in the area of Wall and Railroad streets. The caller reported being struck in the face when he asked a friend about finishing the work on his vehicle. The victim then stated he did not wish for the suspect to be charged or for the matter to be investigated further.

-An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of S. Broadway Street for the report of a tow truck trying to tow the caller’s vehicle. The caller advised the tow truck driver was attempting a repossession, however, hooked up to the wrong vehicle.

-A caller in the 500 block of W. Main Street reported loud music coming from downtown.

-An employee called to report suspicious activity at a business in the 1000 block of Cherry Street; a woman was holding several packages, and an employee believed she may have been trying to steal items. When the officer spoke to her, she stated she was just waiting for prescriptions to get filled, although there were no prescriptions currently for her.

-A stolen vehicle out of Adams County was recovered in the 300 block of W. Center Street.

-A suspicious person was reported in the 7400 block of Park Avenue; the caller advised that a woman was knocking on doors. The officer spoke with a woman, who advised she knew the homeowner and was looking for a place to stay. The officer provided the woman with a ride to a nearby business to wait for a ride.

-An anonymous caller reported a man kicking a front door and arguing with a woman. Upon arrival, the man and woman both stated they had an argument, and separated for the night.

-A suspicious person was reported in the 7500 block of Fairground Road; a woman was located with all of her belongings, and stated she got a ride to Wilmington the day prior, but was brought back by a ministry and dropped off. The woman stated she wished to get treatment and assistance with housing. The officer provided a ride to the woman to a treatment facility.

-A caller in the 500 block of W. Main Street reported that stakes in his neighbor’s front yard fell over, and suspected possible property damage by someone. Upon speaking with the owner, she stated that the stakes were not in the ground deep and did not feel it was a criminal act by someone.

-An officer responded to the 100 block of Carr Street for a possible attempted suicide. The caller believed the male took a large number of pills. Blanchester EMS responded and tended to the male.

-A resident in the 100 block of Central Avenue called due to her husband calling non-stop and driving by her residence. An officer spoke to both parties, and the other half agreed to only contact the other for reasons pertaining to court.

-An officer was requested as a peacekeeper while a woman and her child left a residence in the 400 block of S. Wright Street.

-An officer heard yelling and profanity coming from an address in the 100 block of N. Clark Street. The officer made contact with a male, who stated he was upset because earlier, he was mistaken as his father, who had a warrant, and was arrested. The male said he was talking to his family and was upset. One family member asked him to watch his language, to which he got upset. The male agreed to leave with a friend to avoid further conflict.

-A suspicious person was reported at a business in the 100 block of S. Broadway Street; the caller advised a woman was possibly overdosing. An officer spoke with the woman, who stated she stopped to get a drink and to use her phone, instead of using her phone while driving.

-An officer responded to the 100 block of Old S. Broadway for a male breaking into a vehicle. Upon arrival, it was found that a male was gathering his belongings, which the vehicle owner allowed. The owner of the property stated they did not want the male to return.

-A landlord tenant dispute was reported in the 100 block of W. Fancy Street. The caller reported that a 19 year-old that was staying with them was being disrespectful, and they did not wish for him to continue to stay there. The male lived three hours away, and was unable to get a ride until the next day. An officer contacted a local resource to get the male temporary housing until he could get a ride home.

-An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Fancy Street for a suspicious male. The caller stated that their security cameras captured a man on their porch, and then sitting on an old couch that was sitting at the curb. The officer patrolled, but did not locate the male.

-Officers were called to the 800 block of E. Center Street for a civil problem. The caller did not wish to have management on her property to look for and fix an issue with the sewer. Management stated that the caller contacted news and the health department, and not them, and wished to figure out what the issue was. The caller did not allow management on the property, and stated that lawyers were involved.

-An employee of a business in the 600 block of W. Main Street called due to a woman sleeping in her car in the parking lot. Upon arrival, the vehicle was gone. The caller stated that the vehicle was in the parking lot for about 30 minutes before coming in to buy food and leaving.

-Officers were called to two different locations for a man throwing a Frisbee. An officer made contact with a male who stated he was homeless. An organization to help with housing was contacted for the male.

-An officer was called to the 800 block of E. Center Street, as the caller stated that management was trying to go inside and under her trailer to look for a sewer backup. Management told officers that they only needed to go under the trailer, as there was a complaint made to the state about it. The caller stated that was fine to do.

-An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of W. Main Street for heavy smoke in the area. Upon arrival, it was found that a vehicle was having mechanical problems.

-A resident in the 500 block of W. Main Street reported loud music coming from a festival downtown.
