Girls Basketball Final: Clermont NE 49, Blanchester 24

BLANCHESTER — Clermont Northeastern scored the first 12 points of the game Thursday and never looked back in a 49-24 win over Blanchester at the BHS gym.

The Wildcats drop to 0-5 on the year, 0-3 in the SBAAC National Division. The Rockets are 2-1 in the conference.

Hailee Harris and Ali Trovillo had five points each for Blanchester.

The Wildcats played without leading scorer Kaylee Coyle.

Karlee Tipton, Shelbie Panetta and Bella Kelly had four points each and Desiree Abbott rounded out the scoring with two points.

After falling behind by a dozen early, the Wildcats battled to get back in the game. It was 17-8 Rockets after one and 24-13 CNE at the half.

In the junior varsity game, Blanchester came out on top 41-33.

Bella Kelly was top scorer with 11 points and Ali Trovillo tossed in 10 points.

Jocelyn Lansing had seven points and Tobi Tedrick scored six. Lily Rice put through five points and Ava Lanham had two points each.
