SABINA — East Clinton Local Schools students have been engaged in a series of activities that are not only fostering a love for reading, but also spreading holiday cheer.

According to New Vienna Elementary Principal Suzanne Arthur, on Monday, Jason Jones, director of curriculum and instruction, distributed a generous gift to students in grades pre-K to fifth grade. Free books, provided by the organization Open Minds Align, found their way into the hands of eager young readers. The initiative aims to cultivate a passion for literature and empower students with the magic that stories can bring into their lives.

Arthur shared that after winter break, teachers are guiding students in crafting “thank you” letters, adorned with colorful drawings and expressions of appreciation, to be sent to Open Minds Align upon their return in January.

Adding to the festive ambiance, East Clinton FFA officers took a trip to New Vienna on Monday, Dec. 18. They brought the gift of Christmas stories to the youngest members of the community.

These heartwarming initiatives, as reported by Arthur, reflect the commitment of East Clinton students, teachers, and community members to foster a love for learning and spread joy during the holiday season.
