VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Faith Duncan finished up a historically good first indoor season for the Quakers this weekend by earning All-America honors.

Competing in the 3,000-meter run here at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, Duncan ran 9:39.47 to place seventh and take home All-America honors for the first time in her career.

Duncan becomes the first Quakers All-America athlete in the 3,000 meters since 1997 and she also lowers her program record time in the event.

Duncan is the first women’s indoor track & field All-America athlete for Wilmington since Mackenzie Willis in the pole vault in 2011. She is the first one to do it on the track since Callen Martin was the 55-meter dash indoor national champion in 2010.

Duncan was in the top three for much of the race, keeping pace for second place. She fell back over the final few laps, but still destroyed her previous personal best of 9:43.87.
