WHS sixth, Adams runnerup at Hurricane Invitational

WILMINGTON — Stephen Adams was the runnerup at third singles Saturday in the Hurricane Invitational tennis tournament on the WHS courts.

Overall, Centerville the tournament, claiming individual titles at third singles and on both doubles courts.

Little Miami was second while Georgetown and Greenville tied for third place.

Wilmington was sixth in the team standings.

Adams defeated players from Bishop Watterson and Georgetown before falling to Centerville in the title match.

The doubles team of Brennen Zeigler and Hunter Holbert were fourth. They defeated Georgetown before losing to Centerville in the semifinals and Greenville in the consolation match.

Trey Reed was seventh at first singles, Mathias Supanz was seventh at second singles and the Toby Alsip/Cristian Perez team was seventh at first doubles.
