Falcons hold off Lions, move in to 2nd in American Division

ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Clinton-Massie held off a late New Richmond rally Friday for an 11-9 win in SBAAC American Division baseball at Paul Schwamberger Field.

The Falcons are now second in the American Division standings, 2.5 games behind unbeaten Batavia. Massie is 9-5 overall, 5-3 in the league.

The Lions slip to 10-7 overall and 3-4 in league play.

Massie trailed 4-1 then tied the game at 4-4 in the second. The Falcons plated three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to grab an 11-5 lead.

The Lions scored four runs in the seventh to make it a close game but the Falcons held on for the win.
