OXFORD — The Wilmington High School girls tennis team evened its record at 1-1 Monday with a 5-0 win over Talawanda in non-league action at Miami University.
The win for WHS was the first-ever against Talawanda, coach Doug Cooper said.
“Doubles teams are starting to find some rhythm, but still have some things to work out. This was a good win for us against an old conference rival.”
Allison Brooks improved to 2-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 win at first singles.
In junior varsity action, Joanna Gonzalez won a third set tiebreaker at first singles to preserve the five-court sweep for the Lady Hurricane.
