Modern Woodmen, Boy Scouts team up to raise funds

Modern Woodmen of America teamed up with the Wilmington Boy Scout Troop 154 to help raise funds for their Boy Scout program. They sold corn on the cob at the Corn Festival and raised $5,315. Modern Woodmen matched $2,500 of the fundraiser to bring the total proceeds to over $7,815.

On-Target 4-H club holds Christmas party

The On-Target 4-H club held its annual Christmas party and election of officers meeting on Monday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Clinton Co. Sportsman’s Club. The 4-H families and advisors enjoyed a carry-in meal and then started the meeting to discuss the 2023 schedule of events. The club elected its 2023 officers: President- Anna Davis, Vice President- Bryce Huffman, Secretary- Taylor Colwell, Treasurer- Isaac Chesney and News Reporter-Cooper Dillion. The next meeting is Jan. 9 at 6:30 p.m. and will include a safety meeting following the business meeting.

East Clinton Project TRUST continues to grow

East Clinton Project TRUST is growing and expanding. With the support of EC administration, including second year East Clinton Middle School Principal Matt Melnek, the program was able to have a whole school assembly, including all sixth-eighth graders to kick off the November 2022 Project TRUST Camp.

The Wilmington FFA attended the 95th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis on Oct. 26-28 with 19 members.

College exceeds #GivingTuesday stretch goal

Attempting to raise $100,000 over the course of 24 hours was a lofty ambition for #GivingTuesday (Nov. 29), but, when the dust settled at midnight, Wilmington College counted a whopping 375 gifts totaling a record $179,975.
