Annual Silent Watch planned

The Annual Silent Watch raising awareness of suicide among America’s veterans is 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Veterans Memorial in front of the Clinton County Courthouse.

September is suicide awareness month among veterans. At the current rate, 22 veterans a day take their own lives. The Silent Watch is to raise awareness in the community and to honor our fallen brothers and sisters.

To sign up to volunteer for a shift, call 937-382-3233 beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Locals on SSCC honors list

Southern State Community College has released its honors lists for summer semester 2022.

Clinton County students include:

President’s List (4.0): Wilmington — Leah Botkin, Phillip Gant, Rhonda Hale; Clarksville — Tara Bergfeld; Sabina — Joseph Elliott.

Dean’s List (3.5 & up): Blanchester — Nicholas Musselman.

News Journal closed Labor Day

The offices of the News Journal will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5 in observance of Labor Day.
