11th annual hospice golf outing

The 11th annual Angel Care Open Community Care Hospice golf outing is a four-person scramble to be held Friday, Aug. 14 at Majestic Springs Golf Club, Wilmington. Cost is $100 per player and includes registration and breakfast provided by Wilmington Nursing & Rehab beginning at 7:45 a.m. with tee-off at 9 a.m. Included are 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, field events, raffle and an award presentation, longest putt and driving contests, closest-to-the-pin challenge and split the pot. (No denim; collared shirts required.) Teams registered by June 16 are $75 per player. They welcome donated prizes for the raffle.

Funds raised from this year’s outing will be dedicated to patients who are uninsured in our communities. Community Care Hospice is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation formed to serve local communities in Clinton, Highland and surrounding counties. They never turn anyone away regardless of ability to pay. Tryouts for U14, U11 girls soccer

The tryouts are for Wilmington SC Blast Girls U14 and Girls U11 for fall 2015 and spring 2016 will be Monday, June 15 at David Williams Park on the back fields off of Fife Avenue. The U11 tryouts will be 6:15-7:15. The U14 tryouts will be 7:30-8:30. Rain date will be June 17. Please bring a ball, shin guards, cleats, and water.
