WILMINGTON — Thirey Cabinetmakers, a local woodshop, wants to find the ugliest kitchen in Clinton, Highland and Fayette County.
Thirey Cabinetmakers’ Ugly Kitchen Contest will run June 18 to July 24, with proceeds benefiting the New Life Clinic, a crisis pregnancy center relocating from the south side of Wilmington to the downtown area.
The person with the ugliest kitchen will win a $1,000-off coupon to go toward new cabinets, counters, flooring and installation.
To enter the contest, take three to four pictures of your ugly kitchen and email them to [email protected] along with your name, address and a $100 donation to the New Life Clinic.
All submissions must be received by July 24 at 5 p.m.
After that, the top three finalists will be decided by a panel of judges. From there, the kitchen pictures will be shared on Thursday, July 30 via Thirey Cabinetmakers’ Facebook page for a people’s choice vote. Names will not be publicized; finalists will be notified via email.

• In-home design consultation with Thirey Cabinetmakers
• Custom layout of Echelon kitchen cabinetry, “Norwich” maple style, choice of stain
• Laminate countertops, choice of colors provided by Thirey Cabinetmakers
• Bar pull cabinet hardware provided by Thirey Cabinetmakers
• Choice of paint color, provided by Matrka Renovation and Painting
• Flooring provided by Matrka Renovation and Painting
