NEW RICHMOND — The Blanchester girls cross country team finished fourth and the boys were sixth Saturday at the New Richmond Invitational.

“The girls are very solid but Amelia and New Richmond have two of the best teams in the area and we seem to run against them in every invitational,” BHS coach Tony Blevins said.

Blanchester placed four runners in the top 25, with freshman Olivia Gundler leading the way in 22:01, good for 10th place.

On the boys side, Blanchester was sixth with Tyler Holland’s 19th place finish in 19:01 the top finish.

“He is consistently our hardest worker in practice and he is really having a good freshman season,” Blevins said. “We have three freshmen and one sophomore in the top five. Tyler’s brother Sean Holland and Ricky Davis, both freshman, are hoping to break the 20 minute barrier soon. Senor David Trivett has been battling some respiratory problems but is starting to feel better.”
