CM wins SCOL boys golf title

CHILLICOTHE — Capping an unbeaten regular season, the Clinton-Massie boys golf team won the South Central Ohio League tournament Saturday at Chillicothe Country Club.

The Falcons, 28-0 in league play this season, shot 325 as a team while runnerup East Clinton was 23 shots back at 348. The Astros finished with a league record of 24-4.

Wilmington was seventh in the tournament.

Max Knisley of Washington was the tournament and overall league medalist. He shot 72 on Saturday.

Jon Blair of East Clinton was league runnerup.

Keith Mineer of Clinton-Massie was third overall in league standings but second in the tournament with a 78. Max Carnevale of Clinton-Massie was third in the tournament with a 79.

Mineer and Blair were first-team All-SCOL.

Carnevalie, Drew Kienle, Thomas Carter and Cameron Collett all of CMHS were second-team All-SCOL.

The league title is the third league golf championship for the Falcons, who also won league championships in 1992 and 2008.

The five players on the all-league teams is the most in Clinton-Massie history for boys golf.
