Blan FFA night at football game

The Blanchester FFA recently hosted an FFA night at the high school football game. There were several activities that were run by various committees, such as Cow Patty Bingo, Petting Zoo and Tractor Displays. The purpose of this event was to create an awareness for agriculture and celebrate the FFA organization.

For Cow Patty Bingo, participants bought bingo squares and if the cows “did their business” in the purchased square, they won a prize. Although it was rainy, high school teacher Andrea Harpen and high school student Serenity Batterson won a $100 gift card each to Kroger. Proceeds from this event went to the Glen Thompson Food Drive fund.

Members running the petting zoo informed guests about the animals theye had such as rabbits, pygmy goats, boer goats, miniature pony, piglets and natural colored sheep. They even passed out promotional materials like meat thermometers from the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association.

The Blanchester FFA would like to thank the Gibson Family and Brian Stroud family for allowing them to use their four-wheel drive tractors to have on display. The purpose of this was to give the public an up-close look at how large these machines are and other specifications.

Other notable events of the evening was vice president of chapter development Terra Ficke singing the national anthem, the officer team assisting the American Legion in presenting the colors as well as tossing T-shirts into the stands at half time that promoted Ohio agriculture.

The Blanchester FFA would like to thank the athletic department and boosters for their support in this event. Everyone had a blast and we are looking forward to it next year.
