Wilmington Fire Chief Andy Mason speaks with Bill Bogardus and Raymona Dusseau-Bogardus.

The Clinton Chief was last run in 1914 and retired in 1921 when motorized fire equipment became available. The Clinton Chief was on display at the open house, dates back to 1875 and was provided by the Clinton County Historical Society.

Lexi Gale, 5, and Seven Spann, 6, enjoyed popcorn, plastic fire hats and the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s fire safety house at Saturday’s open house celebrating the Wilmington Fire Department’s 175th birthday. “They were very interested in what was going on with the fire trucks,” said Alice Spann. “And they wanted to learn more about fire safety.”
