MIDLAND — The two residents who died in a Friday fire have been positively identified as Michael A. McCoy, 68, and Sharon Reynolds, 57, both of Midland.

The official causes of their deaths have not been determined, according to Clinton County Coroner’s Office Investigator Gary Garrison.

A final autopsy report from the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office is not expected to be released for about five and a half weeks, Garrison said Tuesday.

McCoy and Reynolds were at McCoy’s mobile home on the 500 block of Hales Branch Road near Midland when it was struck by fire, which was reported to emergency personnel about 12:45 a.m. Friday.

The State Fire Marshal’s investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, according to a Tuesday email reply from Bill Krugh, public information officer with the Division of the State Fire Marshal.

McCoy retired after 30 years with General Motors, and was a member of the Blanchester Eagles Aerie 2222 and of the Blanchester American Legion Marion Unit 179. He is survived by two sons, seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
