BHS reserve girls tie LC 2-2

The Blanchester reserve girls soccer team battled Lynchburg-Clay to a 2-2 tie Tuesday night.

The Ladycats finished the season with a 2-1-4 record.

Coach Kurt Ballinger said goalkeeper Regan Ostermeier played a strong game in goal while Sally Schafer put forth a good effort on defense.

Both teams scored one goal in each half.

Trailing 1-0, Blanchester tied the match in the 35th minute when Virginia Maloney’s cross was booted into the goal by Shylinn Flint. The goal was Flint’s first of the year.

In the second half, BHS took a 2-1 lead when Brynne Cain scored on a penalty kick.
