HILLSBORO — The Blanchester junior varsity girls basketball team rallied from an 11-point deficit but fell short against Hillsboro, 31-29, Monday night in a non-league game at the HHS gym.

Blanchester outscored Hillsboro 15-6 in the fourth quarter. “Digging out of an 11-point deficit is never the situation you want to find yourself in but the girls battled in the fourth quarter and showed what they can do when they work hard and play with heart,” said BHS coach Bradon Pyle. “We need more of that fourth quarter team as the season progresses.”

Hayley Wilson led all scorers with nine points and sparked the offense in the fourth with two early baskets in the quarter.

Shelbie Rose put in seven points including a couple of nice jump shots. Kassidy Abney had four and Regan Ostermeier added three. Holly Scott, Savanna Shank and Alexa Sams had two points each.
