HILLSBORO — The Rodger O. Borror eighth grade boys basketball team opened its season Tuesday with a 37-34 loss to Hillsboro in overtime.

Matt Butcher led the Wilmington squad with 19 points.

“You could tell there were nerves to start the game, but the boys settled down and played hard,” ROB coach Randall Davis said.

Kendall France added five points to the ROB scoring column while DaShawn Turner, Brady Vilvens, Brandon Glass, Peyton Hibbard and Elijah Rockhold had two points each.
