The Blanchester eighth grade girls basketball team defeated Batavia 27-25 Wednesday.

Casey Kingsland led the young Ladycats with 10 points, 3 steals, 3 blocked shots and 4 rebounds.

Madison Wells had 5 points, 6 rebounds and a blocked shot. Becca Kratzer had 4 points while Caili Baumann had 4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 blocked shots and 2 steals.

Lana Roy had 3 points, 4 steals and 4 rebounds, coach Jamie Kingsland said. Noelani Tangonan rounded out the Blanchester scoring with a single free throw.
