County alumni in action this fall, winter season

Trying to keep pace with alumni from our Clinton County schools. Getting good help from local athletic directors, but anyone with knowledge of a graduate or local resident who is playing, coaching or in administration with a sports team at the high school, college or professional level, feel free to pass it on to me via email — mhuber(at)civitasmedia.com.

Following is not an all encompassing list but rather those who are active in this winter sports season.

• Quinten Rollins (Green Bay Packers; WHS ’10) Had 3 solo tackles in 21-13 win over Houston Texans. Has missed 3 games this season because of injury. Has 21 total tackles this season. Had 31 as a rookie in 14 games in 2015.

• Bayle Wolf (Jr., Army West Point; CMHS ’14) Football to play Navy Noon Saturday. Earned berth in Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl Noon Dec. 27 against West Texas.

• Trent Smart (RS Jr., Ohio University; CMHS ’13) Football lost to Western Michigan in MAC title game. Earned berth in Dollar General Bowl Dec. 23 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

• Kacey Uetrecht (Jr., Northern Kentucky University; CMHS ’14) Had 16 points (4-5 3FG), 3 rebounds, 1 assist in 54-45 loss to Stetson on Nov. 30.

• Sydney Brackemyre (Jr., University of Indianapolis; CMHS ’14) Had 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal in 61-43 loss to No. 18 Lewis on Dec. 3. Had 29 points (11-18 FG, 5-6 3FG), 11 rebound, 1 assist in 70-57 win over Wisconsin-Parkside on Dec. 1.

• Jaevin Cumberland (So., Oakland University; WHS ’15) Had 5 points, 1 assist in 78-68 win over Southern Utah on Dec. 3. Had 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal in 94-68 win over Oral Roberts on Dec. 1.

• Jarron Cumberland (Fr., University of Cincinnati; WHS ’16) Bearcats ranked No. 22 in latest AP poll. Will play at Butler 4:30 p.m. Saturday, televised on FS1. Had 2 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal in 85-56 win over Bowling Green on Dec. 4.

• Alyssa Lewis (Fr., Siena College; WHS ’16) Swam in the East Coast Athletic Conference Winter Championship meet Dec. 3-4. She was fourth in the 400 medley relay, fifth in the 200 free relay and sixth in the 400 freestyle relay. Lewis also was 17th in the 100 free, 27th in the 50 free and 29th in the 100 fly. As a team the Siena women were fourth out of 14 schools.

• Maddie Schaffer (So., Marshall University; WHS ’15) In meet against Ohio University on Dec. 2, she finished second in the 200-yard butterfly and was sixth in the 200 backstroke. Coach Bill Tramel commended Schaffer’s effort in the 200 fly saying she was a full second behind at the 50 and still a full second behind at the 100 but came back and ran down Ohio (swimmers) to beat them by almost two seconds. Last season was 7th in Conference USA Championship meet in 400 IM, 8th in 200 fly and 13th in 200 back. Was 5th in school history in the 100 fly with a time of 56.03 seconds.

• Emma Farrow (So., Miles Community College; BHS ’15) Has played in nine basketball games for the Pioneers, located in Miles City, Montana.
