The East Clinton eighth grade boys basketball team opened its season with a pair of wins.

On Dec. 5, East Clinton defeated Washington 48-27.

Branson Smith led East Clinton with 18 points and Dylan Peterman had 10 points.

On Dec. 2, the young Astros stopped Leesburg 49-26.

Peterman and Smith had 19 points each.
