WILMINGTON — A local man was arrested for domestic violence after he displayed a firearm, according to Wilmington police.

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Xenia Avenue on Monday, Nov. 28 on a report of a subject threatening the mother of his children with a firearm, according to WPD Chief Duane Weyand. Officers responded to the area and found Robert Jesse Snell, 27, walking away from the residence, Weyand said.

“Snell refused commands and was taken into custody after a struggle,” Weyand said. “Snell had concealed on his person a loaded handgun. Snell pointed the weapon at the mother of his child. He threatened to kill her too. When police were alerted Snell left the residence.”

Snell was charged with resisting arrest, domestic violence, and carrying a concealed weapon.
