CENTERVILLE — The Clinton-Massie boys bowling team finished sixth Saturday in the Viking Classic bowling tournament at Poelking South bowling center.

Joey Marburger led the Falcons with a 637 series, bowling games of 188, 204 and 245. He was ninth overall among the 99 bowlers who participated. The top eight bowlers were on the all-tournament team and Marburger missed the final spot by six pins, coach Shonda Marburger said.

Butler won the tournament with a 4,514 total while CMHS was sixth with 4,062.

Falcons had baker games of 189, 181, 177, 179, 141 and 219.

“The team realized that they were going to have to make adjustments after watching their ball react during practice,” coach Marburger said.

Aric France broke 600 with games of 195, 208 and 203 for a 606. Jacob Wellman had 574 (202, 179, 193) and Kenton McInerney had 569 (190, 186, 193).

Corey Potts had a single game of 167 and Chandler Morsch had two games of 218 and 205 (423 total).

Coach Marburger said Adin Lamb, a reserve bowler, did not compete during the team portion of the tournament but “bowled in a our 219 baker game and marked in both frames.”
