ADAMS TOWNSHIP – Led by its seniors, the Clinton-Massie tennis team defeated Western Brown 3-2 Wednesday in a SBAAC American Division match on the CM courts.
The doubles team of Claire Carruthers and Hailey Stinchcomb improved to 22-5 on the year with a 6-0, 6-0 win. They are 9-1 in American Division matches.
Megan Wonderly and Hailey Clayborn also won by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Clinton-Massie finishes its regular season with a 15-4 record overall and 6-4 mark in the American Division. The Lady Falcons will play in the Div. II sectional tournament at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason 8 a.m. Friday. The tournament was postponed Thursday because of rain.
“What a wonderful regular season this has been,” CM coach Lynn Deatherage said. “We placed five players on the SBAAC first team all-stars at league tournament last week – Anne Thompson, Claire Carruthers, Hailey Stinchcomb, Megan Wonderly and Hailey Clayborn. All four seniors exceeded 20 wins on the season and we had strong finishes in three tournaments.”
