WHS boys, girls sweep top honors at Franklin

FRANKLIN — The Wilmington High School boys and girls cross country teams swept the field Tuesday at the Franklin Invitational.

The WHS boys were led by race winner Carter Nichols, who clocked an 18:48.

Wilmington had 49 team points while runnerup Fenwick had 64. Valley View, Dixie, Fairborn, Northridge, Carlisle, Madison, Clinton-Massie and Franklin followed.

Tristin Vail was sixth in the girls race in a season-best 22:44.

Fenwick was second in girls standings with Valley View was third.
