BLANCHESTER — With only one team putting up any sort of challenge, the Clinton-Massie wrestling team breezed to the championship Saturday of the Blanchester Holiday Duals.
The Falcons strung together 8 wins over the two-day event, with only Blanchester on Friday night putting up a serious threat on the scoreboard, 42-33.
Blanchester finished fourth in the tournament.
Reading was runnerup with New Richmond third. The rest of the field behind Blanchester was Clermont Northeastern, Mariemont, Amelia, Sycamore B team and Wyoming.
Clinton-Massie posted the following wins: 60-24 Reading, 78-6 Mariemont, 42-33 Blanchester, 63-12 Amelia, 66-12 Sycamore, 57-21 New Richmond, 66-9 Wyoming and 58-18 CNE.
Blanchester defeated Mariemont 63-18, Clermont Northeastern 53-24, Wyoming 66-12, Sycamore 58-24 and Amelia, but lost to Massie 42-33, New Richmond 37-33 and Reading 42-39.
