New traffic signal on horizon

WILMINGTON – There will soon be a new traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. 68 and the newly constructed Airborne Connector Road, the City of Wilmington announced. The new signal will be operational on or about Wednesday, Jan. 25.

A new signal will be in “flash” mode for approximately five days, beginning Friday, Jan. 20; lane closures will be in place to permit traffic personnel to unbag the traffic signal heads.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the signal and upcoming lane closures.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, the City of Wilmington asks that all motorists remain alert, reduce their speed, and watch for stopped traffic while traveling through this zone.

Questions regarding the new traffic signal may be made to the Office of the Director of Public Service at 937-382-6509.
