Beginning Wednesday, May 1, weather permitting, Hale Road will be closed for a pipe replacement, according to the Clinton County Engineer’s Office.

Pickard, Trine University continue successful streak in NASA rover competition
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — For the fourth time in five years, a team of Trine University student engineers, which includes a Wilmington resident, has earned recognition at NASA’s annual Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC) competition.
Willows are very thirsty
You don’t have to be a tree expert to recognize a “Weeping Willow” tree. Native to China, Salix babylonica, commonly called weeping willow or Babylon weeping willow, is a medium to large shade tree with a stout trunk topped by a graceful broad, rounded crown of branches that sweep downward to the ground. It grows to thirty to fifty feet tall and wide, sometimes even larger.
WC’s Maegan Pearson heading to Equestrian Nationals
Maegan Pearson’s mother, Christine, grew up around horses and she and her husband, Dave, wanted to share that quality of life opportunity with their daughters. Maegan has taken her family’s passion for horse riding to heart and now, as a freshman at Wilmington College, qualified to compete at the International Horse Show Assn. (IHSA) Championships.

OSU Extension Clinton County is offering a program on the economics of field drainage systems. This program also offers CCA credits to crop advisors in need of credits. The program is titled “Drainage and Water Management for Now and the Future.”
