Wallingford inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi

Bryan Wallingford of Wilmington, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, according to a news release. Wallingford was initiated at University of Idaho.

Local seniors receive scholarships from Lions Club

At the monthly Wilmington Lions Club meeting, seven Clinton County high school seniors were guests and recipients of scholarships given by the club each year. Also at the meeting, the club had a presentation from ODOT District 8 office in Lebanon on Adopt a Highway from Jennifer Henderson, who is in charge of the project.

Alexander named to SNHU President’s List

Jynessa Alexander, of Wilmington, has been named to the winter President’s List at Southern New Hampshire University. The winter terms run from January to May.

Retirees, students honored at Clinton-Massie BOE meeting

CLARKSVILLE — At the Clinton-Massie Local School District’s Board of Education meeting Monday night, a recognition ceremony took place honoring the dedicated retirees who have served the district over the years. The event commenced at 6 p.m. in the annex building, where cherished memories were shared, and the retirees were celebrated amidst the presence of their families.

Locals graduate from Southern State’s ADN program

Forty-two graduates, including six from Clinton County, of Southern State Community College’s Associate Degree Nursing Program were recognized during a May 4 pinning ceremony at the college’s Central Campus in Hillsboro.

Earth Day poster artists recognized

Local K-5 students whose Earth Day posters were chosen to be included in the 2023/2024 Clinton County Solid Waste Management District’s annual Educators Calendar were recognized by the Clinton County Commissioners on May 9 at a special courthouse ceremony. Each budding artist received a prize pack of recycled-content items, their winning artwork framed and a dozen of the, hot-off-the-presses, 2023-2024 calendars. All who were in attendance were treated to cookies and punch while they enjoyed the ceremony and the beautiful, historic Clinton County Courthouse. The students posed with their artworks alongside Commissioners Kerry Steed and Mike McCarty. WC Community Summer Theatre to present ‘CHICAGO’

Wilmington College-Community Summer Theatre will celebrate its 50th anniversary by presenting Broadway’s longest-running American musical, CHICAGO, with four performances on July 13, 14 and 15, at 7:30 p.m., and July 16, at 2:30 p.m., in the Hugh G. Heiland Theatre, located on Boyd Cultural Arts Center on the campus of Wilmington College.
